In the heart of the Melbourne suburbs in 1994, Gerry and Vicki O’Neill embarked on a bold venture from a tiny mezzanine office in a relative’s factory. The year marked the birth of Nu Trans, a family-owned and operated transport business driven by a mission to offer unparalleled service through open communication and a robust ‘can do’ attitude. Their journey, from a modest start with just two staff members, is a testament to their perseverance and determination, which has evolved Nu Trans into a major player in the transport industry in Victoria and across Australia.
Fast forward over two decades, and Nu Trans has not just grown, it has thrived and expanded, adapting to the needs of a dynamic market while holding firm to its core values of integrity, innovation, and customer value. From the early days in that cramped office, Nu Trans has matured into a company with a dedicated office team and about 100 sub-contracted drivers, orchestrating logistics from a significantly more extensive and more central location in Tullamarine with ample warehouse storage space.
The strategic move to this new premise in 2022 was not just a change of address but a pivotal upgrade in operational capacity and efficiency. This new hub sits strategically near important routes, significantly enhancing Nu Tran’s service delivery capabilities and response times. Nu Trans has become synonymous with reliability and quality, attributes reflected in the fleet and the breadth of services offered today.
