Victorian Transport Association
Annual Women’s Lunch – Friday 3rd May at the Malvern Town Hall
Nu Trans Executive directors and daughters of the founders enjoyed a wonderful event last week which celebrated the diverse range of amazing women in the transport industry.
VTA leaders Mike Lean and David Ritchie had a lovely approach in the way they addressed a room full of women and showed their respect and appreciation for the women of the industry and the diversity we now have with employment in transport.
Guest speakers Zoe Taylor of the West Gate Tunnel project and Heather Bone of TGE and the Australian Logistics Council’s Sustainability Committee spoke of their experiences in this industry and how their roles came about because they were the best person for the job, not because their company felt they needed diversity in their employee base.
These women spoke of being empowering leaders and well respected colleagues, they highlighted that women are thorough in their thought process and organization of projects and these are skills which are paramount for business success and sustainability.
A delightful lunch was shared between a table full of new contacts and a fun ‘women-centric’ trivia game was played which created a light-hearted atmosphere, a few sing-a-longs and many a laugh.
